Today I rubbed some dirt into my Fiancee’s hair!
Okay so not actual dirt, but that got your attention right? This month I’m forcing Josh to try out Jonathan ‘Dirt’ Texturizing Paste. I’d only heard good things about it and we both agreed(actually just I put my foot down) that it was about time we made a switch from his previous paste – Surf Head Extreme, which if we’re just being honest made him look a little on the shaggy side.
FYI. I’m not a fan of shaggy guys!
Now this is only the third day using the product so I can’t tell you guys what it’s going to be like in the long run. For now however, the results it offers are nothing short of amazing! It’s supposed to give that day-after-you-wash kind of look and as you’ll find out shortly, it certainly does just that.

What Is It?
Okay so this isn’t your typical hair paste. No, if you want to get your hands on some Dirt, you best be ready to fork out $26! Yep that’s right, but there is good reason for the high price point.
For one Jonathan has an unbelievably good reputation for making amazing products. As far as the paste goes, I don’t know of any other product doing a better job at creating that next-day-look.
Getting this look is actually really hard to do, as you need a non-greasy, non-sticky texture, something a lot of brands have failed to make in the past.
There’s a whole whack of ingredients, but some of the noticeable ones include:
- Almond extract
- Horsetail(that’s right I said it!)
- Lemongrass
There’s also a potent concoction of antioxidants, there to keep out those harmful free radicals that would normally lead to hair breakdown.
Yeah, yeah it sounds good, but how are the results??
Josh’s Experience
As soon as our order of Jonathan Dirt Texturizing Paste arrived in the mail, I quickly opened the box, handed it over to Josh and told him to go straight to the bathroom and not come out until he put some in his hair.

When he opened the door, I was seriously impressed. He literally looked like a new man! Gone were the days of shaggy, disheveled hair and hello to my new sexy, sophisticated man!
I ran my hands through his hair as a test to see if it actually wasn’t sticky or greasy and thankfully it was not. It almost felt like he didn’t put any paste in his hair at all, something which is a big positive in my mind.
Although he wouldn’t admit it, Josh was really happy with the results and I honestly can’t see him going back to his previous ‘surfy-guy’ look.
What We Didn’t Like
Probably the only downside is the price at $26, IF of course you buy from most offline and online stores. Absolutely ridiculous price in my opinion and certainly something not everyone can afford.
