3 Cheap and easy teeth whitening tricksWho doesn’t love checking out a big toothy grin? Am I right, or am I right?

Smiles are great for so many reasons. When you’re feeling blue, a smile from a stranger can lift your spirits. A sly smile can let that hunky gentleman at the end of the bar know you are definitely interested in him buying you a beverage.

Oh, there are so many other reasons why a smile is great, but you know what isn’t one of them? A big ol’ yellow mouthful of teeth.

Ever look in the mirror and feel a little self conscious about your teeth? I know I have.

The good news is there are a few simple DIY tricks you can use that won’t cost you a boatload of cash and will deliver a smile you can be proud of!

Now, rather than lose your hard earned pennies to expensive laser treatments, I’m going to boost your beauty confidence with three easy to do at home tricks.

Listen and learn my friends. You’re about to get schooled!

3 Tricks for Whitening Your Teeth The DIY Way

1. A Strawberry Whitening Toothpaste

This first trick is my favourite because it’s berry-licious!

All you need to make this awesome (and cheap!) little DIY is one fresh strawberry and a tablespoon of baking soda.

To make, just mash up your strawberry and baking soda so it forms a toothepaste consistency. Using a nice, soft toothbrush, apply the paste to your teeth and brush as regular.

The only trick here is the paste needs to remain on your teeth for 5 minutes. You might get a little frothy around the mouth, but don’t fret; it’s only 5 minutes!

This works great because strawberries are full of malic acid which is an awesome stain remover. It’s gentle, yet effective and the baking soda works to brighten and whiten!

2. Activated Charcoal to the Rescue

This next hack is a little pricier than one strawberry, but definitely cheaper than laser.

To follow through with this trick, you will need to get your hands on some high quality activated charcoal. These capsules are easy to pull apart so you can get access to their powder.

In a little bowl, empty two capsules and add enough water to turn it into a paste. Same as your berry-licious toothpaste, gently rub it over your teeth. Let it sit for at least 5 minutes before rinsing.

Activated charcoal is a fantastic whitener because it leaches residue that causes stains straight from the source; your teeth.

You’ll be shocked how fast this works!

3. High Quality H2O2

A little more unconventional, this next DIY involves a mixture of Hydrogen Peroxide and water.

To do this DIY grab a bottle of H2O2 with no more than a 3% content. Then, mix together 2 tablespoons of 3% hydrogen peroxide with 2 tablespoons of water. Swish it around your mouth like a whitening mouthwash for 30-60 seconds.

Like the berry paste, you will notice a little foam in your mouth, but this is totally normal. After you spit it out, brush your teeth as usual and do your very best to avoid eating or drinking anything for the next half hour or so.

I don’t think you need any explanation as to why Hydrogen peroxide works to whiten. I mean, you’ve all seen Eminem right? It’s the same nonsense he poured in his hair to bleach it!

Next time you start to notice an ugly layer of stain on your teeth, try one of these DIY’s instead. Your wallet and mouth will thank you.

Now I want to hear from you. Tell me; are you looking for a tooth whitening alternative? If so, which of these options will you try first?
