There’s been a lot of buzz around face oils lately, with claims that they can do everything from cure acne to remove of wrinkles. Some of these claims are a little overstated, but some are true.
While they might not be a miracle cure-all, oils can make a formidable addition to your skincare routine, regardless of your skin type.
They can strengthen your skin’s natural moisture barrier, give your epidermis an antioxidant boost, and yes, some of them can even prevent wrinkles.
So, if you want smooth, soft, glowing skin (and who doesn’t?), then follow these tips on how to use oils in your facial skincare routine. [Keep Reading]

The other day, my ever so internet savvy BFF sent this Bite-Sized Beauty Tips series.
When I first read the title, I immediately assumed it was going to be a series of nonsense, with tips we’ve all heard a million times before. After all, creativity and new material is hard to come by these days.
While some of the tips were ones I’ve seen before, there were a few that really impressed. What hooked me even more, was that each tip set is based on a different theme. This week’s theme: Beauty Tips That Won’t Break The Bank. [Keep Reading]

I like to think of myself as a fabulous multi-tasker. I can talk on the phone, listen to music, type on my lappy and remain fully engaged. Yes, I know; it’s incredible. I can also chew gum and walk, something men don’t seem to be able to do.
What I love about multi-tasking is I get to complete 2 tasks at once. Can’t get more efficient than that! If I enjoy this so much, it stands to reason that a 2 in 1 beauty product would be right up my alley.
There’s something about a 2-in-1 product that makes me feel like I’m saving so much of my precious time. Moisturizer with SPF? Bam! BB Cream? Like killing 2 birds with 1 stone. And if I feel so passionately about this random topic, I assume other beauties love to save a few minutes here and there. [Keep Reading]
My big toe is telling me this summer is going to be a scorcher. The current heat wave passing through Southern Ontario – that’s in Canada, ya’ll – is a killer so far.
Humidity is jacking the temperatures to the mid 30’s and we all know that with humidity comes scary hair days. Not to mention melting faces.
To avoid melting into a puddle like the Wicked Witch of the West, I need to employ a few beat the heat techniques to stay as cool as a cucumber all season long. I’m talking hair, face and body so listen up ladies, cause I’m about to summer school you! [Keep Reading]
If you are Canadian then you have undoubtedly watched an episode of Degrassi. As an 80’s baby, I was more of a Next Generation audience member than the original.
One of the hunkiest dudes was Peter. He was good girl Darcy’s (played by Shenae Grimes of 90210) boyfriend and in one episode she outs him for having gnarly, jungo breath. Harsh, Darcy. Real harsh.
This is a very roundabout way of getting onto the topic of bad breath (and eventually a homemade mouthwash you can make), but cute boys distract me and this is what happens. Oops! [Keep Reading]
We all have our own beauty rules – don’t pluck the hair above your eyebrows, don’t bite your nails, accentuate your best features, hide the worst and clean your makeup brushes. This one I’m still trying to make a habit of. Gross, I know.
With so many different beauty rules floatin’ around out there (thanks Pinterest!) it can be downright difficult to decipher which are true and which are big beauty myths.
That is why I’m taking it upon myself to bust these beauty myths so we can all get back to primping! [Keep Reading]
